Mayor's Youth Advisory Council Application

The Youth Advisory Council is an independent advisory body and resource to the Mayor to ensure the City of Winnipeg works in partnership with youth to realize the potential of the bright, talented young people who call Winnipeg home. The Council will provide the Mayor with youth perspectives regarding the city’s governance, programs, services and initiatives. Members will provide advice based on their diverse experience in a range of areas affecting young people including social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 15 to 21 years of age as of September 1st
  • A high school or post-secondary student
  • A Resident of Winnipeg
  • An overall grade average of 70%
  • Interest in civic government and community affairs

Application Requirements:

  • Completed application form
  • One letter of reference from a non-family member
